The Garden of the Old Temple Enyu-ji Site

Suminaga Omura, the fourth feudal lord of Omura-han, built this Buddhist temple called Enyu-ji in 1652. The temple building is no longer standing, but the traditional sekitei (rock garden) still remains on the hillside today.
The rock garden is a traditional Japanese rock garden in the style of the early Edo Period. A path of white pebbles represents a waterfall and stream between an arrangement of about 400 stones.
