Nagasaki Airport
 As we cross the 970 meters long bridge, the
word Nagasaki can be read from
giant letters
made of flowers. Nagasaki Airport
has been
the first airport in the world
built on a
small man made island (1975).
Flights from Nagasaki Airport reach the islands
of the Prefecture, several places in Japan,
as well as Shang-hai (China) and Seoul (South
Korea).

Boat Races
 The first motor boat race in Japan was held
at Omura in 1952. Many people
travel to Omura
for its boat races. The races
are also a
very important source of income
(almost 57
thousand of million yen, between
1952 and
2001). This money has been used
to improve
the health services, to support
educacional,
cultural and sports development,
and maintain
public infrastructure.
In 1996, a giant screen was installed,
so
that people could see better
the races.

Municipal Swimming Pool
 The Municipal Swimming Pool opened in 1996
and is one of the most popular places during
Summertime.

Cultural and Sports Center Sea Hat
 The Omura Sea Hat is a multi-purposes structure
dedicated for sports, culture
and studies.
There are also 450 free parking
places.

The new Omura
 The Omura Office Park and the Omura High-Tech
Park are located 6 Km from the Nagasaki Airport,
2 Km from the High-way entrance and only
10 minutes from the center of Omura. His
aim is to create a very modern Omura. Belonging
to Nagasaki Prefecture, and located on the
premises, are the Technological and Industrial
Center, the Industrial Development Consorsium
and the Building Technologies Research Center.
